AWANA Clubs: Nurturing Discipleship and Biblical Foundations for Children of All Ages

Are you looking for a proven children’s ministry program that combines fun, faith, and foundational Bible teaching? AWANA Clubs might be exactly what you need. Short for “Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed,” AWANA is designed to help children and youth know, love, and serve Christ. Spanning from preschool through middle school, AWANA equips kids with a solid understanding of God’s Word and practical ways to apply biblical truths to their everyday lives.

What Are AWANA Clubs?

AWANA Clubs focus on age-appropriate discipleship, blending engaging activities and Scripture memory with strong biblical teaching. By offering various club levels, AWANA ensures every child grows in their knowledge and love of God according to their developmental stage. Whether you’re a parent or church leader, AWANA provides structured, relatable curriculum that supports spiritual growth and fosters a lifelong faith.

Cubbies (Pre-K)

Cubbies® is specially designed for preschoolers (Pre-K). It helps young children develop a deep respect for God, His Son, and His Word. Each lesson, called a “Bear Hug,” includes:

  • Memory Verses – Simple Bible verses that spark early Scripture familiarity.
  • Bible Lessons – Engaging stories introducing key truths about God, Jesus, and salvation.
  • Activities – Interactive games and crafts that reinforce biblical concepts.

With an emphasis on parent-child interaction, Cubbies encourages faith-building moments at home while laying the groundwork for a lifetime of discipleship.

Sparks (Grades K–2)

Sparks® ignites a child’s curiosity about the Bible, building a strong foundation of wisdom and understanding. Geared toward children in kindergarten through 2nd grade, Sparks offers:

  • Three Unique Years – HangGlider®, WingRunner®, and SkyStormer™.
  • Biblical Biographies – Each year dives into Bible stories, helping kids explore Scripture in an exciting way.
  • Memory Verses – Age-appropriate verses that encourage growth in God’s Word.
  • Interactive Activities – Fun games and tasks that keep children engaged and motivated.

By focusing on the people and events of the Bible, Sparks sets a firm basis for knowing Christ and loving His Word.

T&T (Grades 3–5)

T&T® (Truth & Training) takes elementary-aged kids (3rd to 5th grade) deeper into the heart of God’s grace, character, and plan for salvation. This four-year curriculum helps kids:

  • Understand God’s Character – Learn about who God is and why it matters.
  • Navigate the Bible – Discover the structure, sequence, and overarching redemption story.
  • Embrace Key Doctrines – Grasp essential Christian beliefs and practices.
  • Build Relational Discipleship – Connect with leaders and peers through Scripture-based discussions.

By emphasizing both knowledge and application, T&T prepares children to follow Christ confidently and share His love with others.

Trek (Grades 6–8)

Trek is designed for middle school students (6th to 8th grade) who are ready to solidify and own their faith. New to many AWANA clubs, Trek provides:

  • Deeper Biblical Studies – Focused lessons that challenge preteens to explore the truths of the gospel.
  • Faith Identity – Encourages students to wrestle with core questions like “Who am I?”, “Why am I here?”, and “Who is with me?”
  • Personal Application – Guides students in applying what they learn to everyday life, fostering maturity and ownership of their faith.

Trek meets middle schoolers right where they are, helping them form a personal, lasting relationship with Jesus.
